Natorp’s roots trace back to 1916, when William A. Natorp arrived from Germany, fell in love with Cincinnati, and launched a small landscape design service that quickly earned a loyal following. Unable to find the plant quality he wanted, he began growing his own—planting the foundation of Natorp’s Nursery. Four generations later, that seed has grown into a 333-acre nursery, an award-winning landscape design firm, a retail destination, and Natorp’s Nursery Online. Known for exceptional plants, meticulous design, and a century-long commitment to excellence, Natorp’s continues to thrive under the leadership of siblings Kyle and Craig Natorp, carrying forward their family legacy and cultivating a community of passionate gardeners across Cincinnati.

Our story begins in the early 2000s, when our family built a local garden centre from the ground up in Barrie, Ontario. Over the years, we became deeply connected with our community by adding a personal touch to the shopping experience and truly listening to our customers, building lasting relationships rooted in trust, quality, and care.
Through those conversations, we learned what mattered most to gardeners: access to fresh, healthy plants, thoughtful selection, and a shopping experience that felt personal and reliable. Those insights inspired the next chapter of our journey, the creation of Landscape Direct.
By working closely with growers and partners across the country, Landscape Direct was built to meet the evolving needs of gardens nationwide — without losing sight of the values that shaped us from the beginning.
March 2026 Update!
As we move into the Spring 2026 Season — the most important revenue period for many garden centers — we want to provide clarity on plant catalog availability, supplier onboarding, and what to expect as our network continues to expand. Seasonal Availability Reminder - Plant growers operate on natural production cycles. Many plant catalogs are not active during the off-season (typically late fall through winter) because crops are not being grown or shipped during that time. This is standard across the industry and ensures that when catalogs go live, they reflect current, shippable inventory for the season.
LIVE NOW - Willoway Nurseries — Catalog went live March 2nd - Willoway pauses during the off-season (October–March) and has been updating its catalog with expanded offerings for the new growing season.
Early to Mid-March Target - Growers who joined in late 2025 are preparing their spring availability and completing onboarding: Natorp's Nursery, Civano Growers, Firefly Petunias, Rohr Seeds and Central Florida Ferns and Foliage. Most are aiming for early March, with some targeting mid-March depending on crop readiness, catalog finalization, and system integration.
Available Now — The following suppliers are already live and ready to support sales while plant catalogs come online: Melrose International & TDI Brands. We strongly encourage members to activate these catalogs now to generate early-season revenue and broaden product selection.
Additional suppliers are currently onboarding. We ask for patience as each supplier is integrated into ERP and ordering systems — a process that requires technical configuration, testing, inventory validation, shipping rule alignment, and multiple quality checks before catalogs can be activated for drop shipping. Because accuracy and reliability are critical during peak season, these steps cannot be rushed. Our priority is ensuring that when a catalog goes live, it functions smoothly for ordering, fulfillment, and customer experience.
We are also in discussions with several prospective suppliers interested in joining the program. If agreements are finalized, most new partners would likely launch later in the year once onboarding, system integration, and seasonal readiness are complete. This timing ensures their catalogs are introduced when inventory and logistics are fully aligned for successful drop shipping.
We understand how critical spring timing is for revenue and ROI. Our team is actively working with growers and suppliers to bring catalogs online as quickly — and as reliably — as seasonal production and system readiness allow. Thank you for your continued support, patience, and partnership as we scale a stronger, more connected supply network for independent garden centers.
